Welcoming New Alliance Members
May 14, 2019

Over the past few weeks, the Alliance has welcomed a number of new member companies to its ranks. We’re excited to have them joining in our global fight to end plastic waste in our environment. Here’s what they have to say about joining the Alliance:

PepsiCo is proud to officially join the Alliance as we work to build a world where plastics need never become waste. Our sustainable plastics vision is rooted in three pillars: Reducing the amount of plastics we use; recycling the plastics we bring to market; and reinventing our plastic packaging. We are excited to help advance these goals through the Alliance by teaming up with cross-industry stakeholders and partnering with local and national governments to prioritize education and infrastructure. Working together, we can help end the plastics crisis and bring about a more sustainable future for ourselves and generations to come.”—Ramon Laguarta, Chariman and CEO of PepsiCo.

TOMRA is delighted to join the Alliance to End Plastic Waste. We believe plastic should be kept in a closed loop so that it can be used and reused in an efficient way. With nearly 50 years’ experience providing solutions to the recycling industry we are proud to contribute our knowledge, industry know-how and technology perspective to the alliance. We look forward to working with players across the value chain to find the best solutions to tackle the global issue of plastic waste and littering and live up to our vision of leading the resource revolution.”—Stefan Ranstrand CEO of TOMRA.

“Westlake is pleased to have joined the Alliance to End Plastic Waste as part of our long-standing commitment to sustainability. With our core value of being a good corporate citizen, we are committed to being a leader in sustainable practices and a responsible environmental steward. We look forward to making a real difference in keeping plastic waste out of the environment through this Alliance.” — Albert Chao, President and CEO of Westlake Chemical.

“At Sealed Air we strive to leave our world, environment, and communities better than we found them, demonstrated in part by our new sustainability and plastics pledge to design and advance our innovative packaging solutions to be 100% recyclable or reusable by 2025. Our membership in the Alliance, together with our collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and its New Plastics Economy initiative, will help us accelerate solutions that minimize and manage plastic waste, helping to keep it out of the ocean and driving increased material circularity.”—Ted Doheny, CEO of Sealed Air.
