The Alliance to End Plastic Waste is a global non-profit organisation headquartered in Singapore. Our mission is to help end plastic waste in the environment, and we do this by developing, deploying, and scaling solutions that result in a positive environmental impact. We are bringing together global leaders from across the plastics value chain to work together with governments, development agencies and NGOs to address the plastic waste challenge.

We are now seeking an experienced and organised Events Manager to oversee, manage and execute our global event strategy. Reporting to the Director of Content, Events, and Channels, this role will manage both external and owned events, ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, with a proven ability to manage complex event calendars, engage with stakeholders, and execute high-quality events that elevate our brand and messaging.

At the core, this role contributes to our vision of ending plastic waste leakage into the environment, growing our credibility and influence with stakeholders that matter, specifically governments, civil society organisations and think tanks. ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage and oversee the global event calendar, including research, analysis, and prioritisation of events that align with our goals and objectives. Provide thoughtful recommendations to our spokespeople.

• Engage with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful participation in high-priority events. Coordinate and manage spokespeople for events, ensuring they are well-prepared and aligned with the overall event goals.

• Manage the end-to-end planning and execution of owned events, including event strategy, content development, speaker coordination, and marketing management.

• Develop engaging event programs for high-level audiences that align with our brand messaging and strategic objectives, ensuring consistency and impact across all touchpoints.

• Oversee all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, audio-visual requirements, and on-site event management. Ensure events are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, monitoring costs and adjusting plans as needed.

• Work closely with and manage coordination with our event agency, ensuring smooth execution and alignment with event objectives.

• Work closely with marketing and communications teams to ensure comprehensive promotional strategies are in place for each event, maximising reach and engagement.

• Track and analyse the success of each event, delivering insights and recommendations for future improvements.

• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience working across departments and engaging with C-suite executives and external partners.

• Ability to think strategically about event opportunities and how they align with business objectives.

• Proactive, solution-oriented approach to problem-solving, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing circumstances.

• High level of resilience and the ability to manage tight deadlines and high-pressure environments.

• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to see events through from conception to execution.

• Collaborative mindset and a positive, team-oriented attitude.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 6-10 years of experience in managing events, ideally in a corporate or B2B setting.

• Proven experience managing both large-scale external events and intimate, owned events from start to finish.

• Strong understanding of event logistics and the ability to handle all operational aspects of an event.

• Experience managing event budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery while maintaining high quality.

• Proven experience working with external event agencies and overseeing their deliverables.

• Experience managing event marketing, including promotional strategies and post-event analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in event management, marketing, communications, or a related field.

• Familiarity with virtual and hybrid event platforms is a plus.
